1. Abdominal pain
The first and most significant symptom by which you can determine that you have a problem with the intestines and be sure to consult a doctor. Thus, exacerbations of chronic or acute intestinal pathologies may appear.
Bright, intense, nagging pains with localization in the lower abdomen may indicate problems in the small intestine. Paroxysmal, giving to the side — left or right — indicate functional disorders in the large intestine.
Pain syndrome can be observed with intestinal dysbiosis – a condition in which the presence of beneficial bacteria and pathogens in it is unbalanced. The composition of the intestinal flora may change against the background of a qualitative change in nutrition, antibacterial therapy, hormonal changes and provoke disturbances in the work of other organs of the gastrointestinal tract.
Abdominal pain can be felt in other diseases: in irritable bowel syndrome, as well as in colitis, enteritis, cholecystitis.
In severe pain, an ambulance brigade call is required. If acute surgical pathology is excluded, a visit to a gastroenterologist is required for examination and treatment.
This increased flatulence, which is subjectively expressed by colic, bloating and abundant gas. Normally, in a healthy person, the gastrointestinal tract contains no more than 200-300 ml of gases that can be ingested by ingestion of air, for example, with food intake or while smoking. Much more problematic is the situation when the formation of gases in the intestine is excessively due to the syndrome of excessive bacterial growth, by eating poor-quality food or foods that cause fermentation.
If bloating is not a frequent occurrence, then as a first aid it is enough to take a carminative or any sorbent that will help to neutralize toxins and pathogenic flora in the intestine, as well as drugs that relieve spasms. It is necessary to refuse food intake, which can serve as a potential provoker of similar symptoms: fermented milk products, carbonated drinks, vegetables and fruits – cabbage, tomatoes, peas, radishes, mushrooms, grapes.
At the same time, remember that flatulence can indicate serious diseases of the intestines and abdominal organs: gastroduodenitis, pancreatitis, cholecystitis, intestinal obstruction, which can only be accurately diagnosed in a hospital.
This is a violation of the chair, which is characterized by irregularity (less than 3 times a week), as well as a thick texture that requires excessive straining. A very common problem that can be caused by a number of reasons: improper lifestyle, diet, stress, and specific drug therapy (taking antibiotics, for example), as well as age-related changes (in older people), hormonal imbalances (in pregnant women), in babies – with the introduction of complementary foods, due to poorly developed digestive systems, etc.
Individual cases of violation or lack of defecation can try to eliminate yourself, if you reconsider the diet, including the right foods. With regular constipation, laxatives should be used, which should be prescribed by a doctor. Independent and uncontrolled use of laxatives (especially irritants) can lead to undesirable effects and deterioration of health.
Violation of the frequency of the chair can be manifested not only by its delay, but also, on the contrary, by frequent desires for emptying and a liquid consistency. Such a symptom may be a manifestation of intestinal motility, as a consequence of malnutrition or stress factor, this symptom may also be a manifestation of serious inflammatory diseases in the intestine (both infectious and non-infectious nature). Diarrhea can accompany cholecystitis, pancreatitis.
Diarrhea mixed with blood is a very dangerous symptom that requires immediate medical attention and examination. Along with severe painful spasms, possibly with vomiting, flatulence, may indicate intestinal obstruction – a disease in which blockage occurs. May occur due to inflammation, internal bleeding, tumor diseases, knot formation, etc.
Diarrhea of any etiology is a reason to consult a doctor.
Impurities of blood or mucus in the fecal masses can talk about a variety of intestinal diseases: from hemorrhoids, rectal fissures to polyps, Crohn’s disease and colloral cancer. Although the nature and color of the discharge can be assumed with what clinical manifestations we are dealing. Bleeding can be abundant or not abundant, with blotches, purulent impurities, clots, their color can also be different – bright, scarlet or dark. In addition, it may be accompanied by other symptoms – pain, burning or itching.
Such symptoms are extremely dangerous, cannot be self-treated and require immediate consultation with the proctologist and further treatment, often in the hospital setting.
If you do not take action in time, the disease can go into the chronic phase, when disorders of digestion and absorption of nutrients can be permanent and gradually lead to complications: the formation of ulcers, abscesses, organ deformities, etc.
